My Train Journey Poem by Priyanshu Jain

My Train Journey

I took a train from Kashmir to Delhi.
I saw the lush green fields.
Which gave very high yields.
From my window I explored the beautiful world.

I saw the trees and towers far and wide.
In the morning light, looking very bright.
And then with wonder, I cried
What a beautiful world it is! ! !

I passed several mountains and valleys.
From which the roads found their way like bowling alleys.
On the hills, there were plants and trees many.
Which made me feel happy and uncanny.

Then the train arrived at a bridge.
Which was located near a deep ridge.
On the left bank a dog starts to bark.
Looking at the water, blue and dark.

I saw the beautiful mountain ranges.
And passing by was the river Ganges.
Somewhere far in the hills, there was the border.
Where everything was in peace and order.

I saw the houses so small and weak.
Which looked at us, still shy and meek.
Now passing the crossings, people waited for the train to pass by.
While some looked hopefully at the sky.

The train arrived at an army cant.
Where I saw soldiers marching in brown shirt and pant.
For the country, ready to sacrifice their lives.
And even take the enemies' lives.

I saw different stations pass by.
On some we stopped, some we just passed by.
The stations were bustling with crowd.
Some passengers waiting for their trains, stood there poised.

I looked outside at the different trees.
While the attendant passed by, distributing freebies.
Some were bent while some were straight.
In the forest, they were not in a row laid.

I saw another station, the board said 'Delhi'.
I then realized, my destination was here.
I couldn't realise how the time passed there.
Oh! ! ! What a journey it was...
