My Tattoo, My Love Poem by Ankit Dabral

My Tattoo, My Love

After such a long time
I sat to rhyme
It is a feeling which I can’t understand
It is like, to a tattoo I`m brand
I like to watch the sky
I love to dance in the rain
Walking beneath the raindrops
Hides all my sorrows, my pains
Pains of which I can’t speak off
Memories which I can’t wipe off
My tormented soul could not be repaired
Weight of my guilt, I could not bear
Bare body of mine bores wounds and scars of time
It hurts and itches, like someone has rubbed a lime
Time space which I, now, belong to
Always, I, think of me instead of you
Tattoo which I wore to show my identity
It hid my feminity from masculinity
Why can’t I forget you?
Why can’t I hate you?
To myself, I always ask
Why to me, you are a difficult task?
You are a tattoo; yes a tattoo, which cannot be erased
You are a chocolate to child inside me, for which I have always craved
