My Soul Aches - Poem by Michael P. McParland

My soul aches for you baby blue.
It's crying hard calling to you.
It misses your sweet loving spirit,
my life is empty without you.
I love you so very deeply much,
I need you and hurt without you
wrapped up tightly in my arms.

My soul is aching calling to only you.
Please come take my hand looking
in my eyes saying,
it's alright because I'm here and
I deeply love you too.

There's a writer in my hometown named Carol Bly who said in a reading that the union of sensuality and spirituality creates something marvelous. Some people around me were taken aback by her statement, one actually said the two terms refer to opposite realities! Your poem brings them together in the union Carol Bly was celebrating. Your soul aches in sympathy with your body which aches in longing for the beloved's touch. That's the whole of it: BODY AND SOUL + BODY AND SOUL = HAPPINESS. (Report) Reply
