My Shiny Cheverolet Poem by Mary Wright

My Shiny Cheverolet

I tried to write a song today
A song about my Chevrolet
A shiny black and silver gray
I tried to sing my song today.

I tried to feel alive today
And live my life a better way
To accept my fate come what may
No matter what life sends my way

I tried to write a poem today
I worked that poem all dammed day
I could not feel the music play
What it was I needed to say

Then I met you, an angel on my way
Someone to share my love in life's café
I met you - I met you - I met you
La La La La La La La La La La

If I climbed to the highest cloud
I would shout out loud and proud
To the wonder I see in your eyes
Chasing dreams across cloudy skies
To greet the world with great surprise

Cause I met you, an angel on my way
Someone to share my love in life's café
I met you - I you - I met you
La La La La La La La La La La

Let's take a ride in my Chevrolet
We will take on life come what may
We will polish the shiny silver parts,
And share the music in our hearts...

La La La La La La La La La La

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote My Shiny Chevrolet in April of 2008. It is really a song poem I wrote when I was feeling like I
needed my life to change, and I was looking for something better
than what I was living. I came up with My Shiny Chevrolet
