My Shimmering Light Poem by Mackenzie Myles

When I look at you, it's like,

Looking up at the night sky,

I can see millions of glistening lights.

Each unique in its own way.

Then I come to realize out of all these shimmering lights,

There is only one that I call my own,

There is only one that gives me sunshine.

Only one that brightens up my day,

from the moment I open my eyes,

To the moment I lay my worries to rest.

You are my only sunshine.
