My Reverie Poem by Kwai Chee Low

My Reverie

Distant stars,
winking in silvery glow.
Faraway mountains,
dark giants capped with snow.

Below the street lamp's halo,
shadows dance in the mist.
Another quiet night,
how can I resist?

Deserted streets, witching hour,
murmurs of nearby streams.
Fragrance of sleeping flowers,
a time for sweet dreams.

A distant wail of an ambulance
breaks the silence,
but quietude soon return.
My reverie too, seeming from a far distance,
sweet memories of days gone by.
