My Reality To My Dreams

Everyday the sun rises
Hitting the snooze button one more time
Back to the dream world, please
Escaping from the reality of life
Back to where the world is so perfect
Fantasy land and dream world
Everything fine, life is grand
Marriage and family just wonderful
Just like the TV families we watch
The magic working so perfectly
Alarm ringing again, darn it
Waking to the hassle and bitching world
Things always unsettle, very much a headache
Racing to the door to escape the pain and misery
Life plays these games, why so much on me?
Worked many years just to struggle
No help from the home front
Waiting for my dream life to come
Time is running out, not getting any younger
Where did things go bad?
Thought I married Mrs. Right, not the lazy devil
Had some kids, wanted more
wonderful they are in their own way
Life been a bumping ride
Time to find a new ride to life
Dreams we had when we were younger
Freedom to live the way we want to
Travel and enjoy the later years
So the dreams live inside me
Wake up my friend, wake up

Poem of the Day

poet Wilfred Owen

All sounds have been as music to my listening:
Pacific lamentations of slow bells,
The crunch of boots on blue snow rosy-glistening,
Shuffle of autumn leaves; and all farewells:
