My Purpose Revealed Poem by Lora Colon

My Purpose Revealed

Rating: 5.0

What is my purpose, my calling,
Why was I thrust on this plane?
Of what achievements may I boast
When the sun sets on my domain?

How I ponder this circumstance,
Why am I here..... why in this hour?
To relight the torch when fierce winds blow?
To give strength when weak men cower?

Am I here to sharpen the sword
When the battle is being lost?
Or, perhaps to calm raging seas
When the frigate is being tossed?

Seeking a reason for this breath
I exhale into the atmosphere,
I looked to heaven..... then to hell,
The answer still remained unclear

I searched through cloud drifts, sand and sea,
Deprived of a compass to guide,
No shout of exultation heard,
How cunningly the answers hide

Or, do my poems hold the key,
Are my words the final Amen....
Piercing my heart, letting passion flow
When in my blood I dip my pen

No, none of these is the answer,
Though ideas come by the score,
Now, at last, my purpose revealed....
I was born to love you evermore!

Read it again and still lovin' it all Grand LOVER you are be it Spring or Fall! One so well loved and loving offers a perspective rare, reckless abandon when you let down your hair?
