My Pride Poem by Koena Mokoena

I'm all about pride & dignity. /
Sometimes i get pissed when i see
the things which happen in my community. /
I believe the truth will set me free /
and so i try everytime to stick to this. /
hence, they say I'm the devil. /
I should be dead, because everything i think, say
and do is evil. /
but it doesn't matter anymore because i don't care. /
It breaks my heart when i see the life
we live today as the youth, because it's not fair. /

Teenage pregnancy is taking over like a new product on the market. /
Due to lack of condomization, situation & temptation. /
And so, lot of girls end up, committing abortion. /
During this time there's a man around the corner called death. /
and he's saying come on! let's take a ride. /
If you have sex under the influence of alcohol & drugs you'll end up losing your pride. /
Because it only comes one's in a life time. /
hence, you will regret this experience time after time. /

I am talking from experience. /
some of us are depressed & suicidal because of ignorance. /
I don't wanna lose mine, so i apply perseverance. /
I believe everything in this world has it's own time & place. /
So, don't ever think of rushing, because you'll end crushing like
an aeroplane who's been flying. /
It doesn't matter what you do, but take your time. /
Hence, you will succeed, YES INDEED! /

Go ahead and start to show off. /
But one day the switch will be off. /
And you will remember me of that I'm sure. /
I'm pure because i lead by example. /
I know i look like a fool to you. /
Because I'm not a humanizer, gangster,
drug dealer, alcoholic or concubine. /
But it's fine_to discriminate me even though the life is mine. /

I am one of the people who believe in success. /
hence, my biggest enemy is failure. /
I go out if i have to, not because i'm scared. /
I know what i want, where, & how am i going to get it. /
If you move around aimlessly with bad intentions your life
will be waisted. /
I'm calm, cool & collected no wonder why i'm respected. /
Brcause i protect my pride & i will always do. /
no matter what they say & that's a deal. /
