It hasn't even been a week
Since you entered my life and yet,
I'm terrified to lose you.
It's been a while since I met someone
Who can make me feel safe and calm me
When I let my mind take control of me.
The distance is far and the times together are short
But cherished like are cherished like a new born.
The strength you show is breath taking, and yet invisible
To your own eyes at times and I just want to shake you,
Wake you and tell you; your strength is invincible.
When the moments haunt me of my past and my eyes flood with tears
Of shame and disgust, you wipe them from my eyes and show me
The light that is shining on a new day.
You're precious, like your name
And that gem; your heart, that I yearn to keep whole, safe and strong.
This poem goes to you; the girl whose past keeps her up at times
The girl whose strength is jaw dropping yet invisible to herself
The girl who brings joy to so many people by just flashing a smile
And to the girl who is still an innocent, beautiful, person.
