My Precious Poem by Melissa Bange

My Precious

Rating: 4.5

Sometimes love eludes you
So it can prepare your soul
For the immensity of true love
The greatest love you'll ever know
That is what you are to me
You are not merely a mortal man
You are an eternal, celestial being
You are love from ancient land
You are the gift I've waited many lifetimes for
The one I am not worthy of
But I will spend all my lifetimes
Being grateful for your love
I often wonder how to tell you
You are magic, you are mystery
You are captivating, you are precious
Your love means the world to me
You're every thought I think
You're the light in my darkness
You're the fire in my soul
Ignited by your caress
You're the smile on my face
When the world knocks me down
You're the tears in my eyes
Whenever you're not around
You're the only face I see
When I close my eyes at night
You're the touch I long to feel
That assures me everything is all right
When I look into your eyes
Everything ceases to exist
And the whole world stops turning
Everytime that we kiss
So, I'm thankful love eluded me
And let time prepare my soul
For the immensity of your love
The greatest love I will ever know
