My Poems Too Simple Poem by Shalom Freedman

My Poems Too Simple

MY POEMS TOO SIMPLE

My poems too simple
Sans symbol - metaphor
Essentially surprise-less
One – dimensional bores.

No inventive language
No mystical lore
No flowing lyric
No word- worlds explored-

They focus on me
And my and me more
They’re an I- I- I song
Others ignored.

They may tell my soul
Whatever I feel
But ironies aside
Can they really be real?
