I had this precious garden I was willing to tend
I worked so long on it till I saw it blossom my way
From no where the storm came and blew the trees away
I tried to gather the remains and see it green again
I worked at it all day not caring about the pain
After all my effort it yielded no seed nor grain
I did all I could to make it come alive
All I saw was sorrow rejection pain and shame
I went on a journey to forget about my past
I entered another garden very different from the last
It has a beautiful covering that is as tall as a mast
The fertilizer that was added made it grow up so fast
I settled with the garden believing it was my last
Only for me to be slack and was blown away with a blast
I humbly packed my bags and left without looking back
I decided I was a failure who could not succeed
I stayed away from the gardens I met along my way
I hurriedly shut my door and never gave them a look
I made it a rule that I will stay off the hook
It was difficult but I gave it all it took
Till I saw another garden along our local brook
It caught me unawares and it became my book
My journey with the gardens taught me all I know
You think I am an expert it never used to be so
I could be cold as ice and fall on it like snow
I decided to be summer and make the garden's face to glow
The effort I now exert moves along with my flow
I am now a proud gardener with lots of fruits for lunch
I am staying with my garden and won't leave it in the lurch
