My Place Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

My Place

Minutes away from the frenzied city
Is this treasured place of tranquility
Where the smell of green grass can set free
The mind from all that weighs so heavy.

No fancy cars here, no elegant mansions,
Just peace and quiet, no world incursions,
The sound of bird songs fill the rustic air,
As butterflies court flowers everywhere.

Palm trees sway with the soft wind's breath
And rustling leaves in harmony is set
I watch their performance filled with awe
I thank the LORD for all that I saw.
