My Peerless Parakeet! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

My Peerless Parakeet!

Hail me by your elegant smiles
to haul me up by several miles.
Throw your arms around me in joy
and yield to all rites of love and enjoy.
Restore my heart that you have stolen,
longing for your piercing looks, it got swollen.
My mind is whirling like a rolling pinnace!
O my kipeeda! Make me steady by thy nous.
If I look at your face to procure your grace
You shower on me with smiles and embrace1
Come out of your woes of life and take to wings
by browsing some lines this bard sings.
If you bless me to scale the bulwark of love
I'll bathe in the rains of warmth you bestow.
Am I an unbidden guest to thy gentle heart?
Tell me, soon I'll leave you off and depart.
Don't shut me into thy ponderous bosom
for I'll struggle much gasping for air of some.
