My Only Song

Baby, we throw everything away,
but Baby, I'll always call you Baby
Baby, you're my hideaway
to you I dedicate my life
so I'll throw away all the pain,
see if I can't learn to sing
but Baby, I'll never throw you away
I'm not worth anything
but Baby, you're my everything
you make this life worth living
and Baby, you know everyday
you show me how to spread my wings
a broken bird can overcome
a broken bird can learn a song
a broken bird can heal.
Well, I was a broken bird for years
living in a broken mirror,
but Baby, you erased my tears
you helped me to face my fears
and I grew new feathers
you showed me the open skies
you taught me how to fly
and I became a murrelet
I jumped off the cliff
and ran until I reached the river
now I am safe forever
and I sing my own songs,
Yes, home is where you belong.
Baby, I throw a lot of things away,
Baby, I don't let them get to me
Baby, I might throw everything away
because Baby, you're the only everything I need
you're the only one who is really sweet
Baby, you're my only song,
My Baby, Tim McGraw.

Poem of the Day

poet Wilfred Owen

All sounds have been as music to my listening:
Pacific lamentations of slow bells,
The crunch of boots on blue snow rosy-glistening,
Shuffle of autumn leaves; and all farewells:
