My Naija, My Pride(A Love) Poem by Richard Momodu

My Naija, My Pride(A Love)

My naija, my pride
My naija needs a love benevolent and mild
A love that should be portrayed by me and you
A love liberating us all from doom

A love indestructible
A love free of puzzles
A love that abhors deceit
A love reaching every district
A love like lips; on every sexes
A love of peace and justice
A love fully spelled with no letters missing
A love that never ends like a birthday party

A love pragmatic and full of hope
A love cleansing insurgency but without a soap
A love that obliges to every synonyms of love
A love not bigotry but one of equality
A love curing poverty and political insanity
A love fruitful even when it doesn't rain
A love that won't succumb to dew even when the clouds were in a pain
A love keeping us above the salt
A love truly legal and not something that fell of a truck
A love providing displaced children with a home
A love softening those with the heart of stone

A love irritated by the Idea of whatever abuse
A love friendly to everyone and not aloof

A love that should be portrayed by you and I
A love forever and not for awhile
A love like that of a real mother for her child
Our naija needs a love benevolent and mild
