My, My, Poem by cheryl davis miller

My, My,

I was sittin on my front porch mindin my own p's and q's.
When your truck pulled up and you stepped out directly in my view.
I popped my eye's back in the sockets and just tried to act real cool.
But honey you stirred up a hornet's nest in me that makes me act the fool.
my, my,

My eye's began to wander up and down your long lank frame.
And my heart still skips every time my lips speak your name.
I told myself, 'You never robbed, no cradle in the past.'
But that devil on my shoulder said, 'You oughta grab this one and rob it fast.'
my, my,

Is there any ladies out there past the age of fourty five,
that saw some young thing that suddenly made your heart come alive?
Take this advise from me, 'It's not an easy row to hoe',
But then every buddies got to go some time. What a way to go.
my, my,

You've got a boyish charm and sweetness, but please listen to me child,
You ain't seen what can happen, when a caged up heart go's wild,
So you run back home now baby, and just leave this 'old' heart be,
Cause it's been caged so long, it scares the hell right of me,
If you ever saw what happens when a caged up heart go's wild,
You'd slam that cage door shut and run home, little child,
my, my

Is there any ladies out there past the age of fourty five,
That saw some young thing that suddenly made your heart come alive?
Take this advise from me, 'It's not an easy row to hoe
but then every buddies got to go some time. What a way to go.'
my, my,

Finally my mind came back to sweet reality,
When my granchild called out to me, 'Grandma can you please help me? '
I blinked my eyes cleared my head and knew what I would do.
I will not trade the life I've built for an afternoon with you.
Temptation may blindside us but the end results are clear.
It's just not worth it all my final words my dear.
my, my,

Is there any ladies out there past the age of fourty five.,
that saw some young thing that suddenly made your heart come alive?
Take this advise from me, 'It's not an easy row to hoe
but then every buddies got to go some time. What a way to go.'
my, my,
