My Most Precious Treasure Poem by Casey Jarrell

My Most Precious Treasure

On this starry night,
I could hear a single voice.
It kept ringing in my ear.
That person taught me not to be afraid.
She would stay through thick and thin with me!

I would sing for her even through the fire.
I would do anything for her even if it costed my life.
Deep inside of my heart, there is a song that hasn't been heard.
When she listens to it, she'll know how I feel.

When the sun rises in the sky,
I walk onto the balcony.
I really felt at ease.
I spread my wings so I could fly.
Your voice has raised me to new heights.

I'll go any length just to find you.
When you're alone, I would always be there.
When you take my hand, the stars begin to shine.
That light will guide us throughout our days.

I would sing for you even when times are painful.
When it hurts the most, I'll be there to heal your wounds.
When the light shines brighter, I know that you will alright.
When I know that you're safe, I'll sing for all eternity.

My head keeps spinning when you're around me.
While the stars are shining, I 'll embrace in my angel wings.
Deep inside of your heart, I can feel the warmth of the sun.
When I open my locket, there is my most precious treasure.
