My Mask Poem by Heather Cropper

My Mask

Rating: 2.7

Pump up the music,
the tension is building,
turn up the volume,
don't let the hurt sink in.

put that mask on,
keep pushing them away.
close you heart for a second longer,
hide the tears you sleep in.

keep the tears pushed back,
not looking for attention.
you hurt the ones you love,
just because you are that messed up.

so confused you constantly lie,
never telling the truth, not a sound.
trying to hide your mistakes,
hate being known as the screw up.

pump of the music,
the tension is building,
turn up the volume,
don't let the hurt sink in.
