My List Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

My List

Rating: 5.0

If I could ask
For a few things in life
The top of my list
Would name my wife

She's seen me through
So many years
Laughed with me
Shed some tears

Of course my sons
Would follow her lead
I'd have to see
To their every need

They've given me joy
Only a father would know
Made me proud
As I watched them grow

Next the women
Who made them whole
Took them away
Just as I was getting old

Now my grandsons
Who call me pop
That's my list
From bottom to top

Lucky was I
To hold so much wealth
All I needed
Was the love I felt

You need a list
To help make your way
Give you focus
To live another day
