My Journey So Far Poem by Nishi Kumari

My Journey So Far

Rating: 5.0

Waving you goodbyes was from where it started
You and I were just passing by
Realized you were the same person I chatted on social network
Oh! I guess it was the month of July.

You were so silent, always spoke so less
And the same was I, hardly uttered a word
Those unsaid days still had some meaning
We were happy, I guess we were friends.

That song you sang when I gave you a 'hi five'
That waiting together at the street that night
I thank those friends who made us wait
Those few minutes still had some sense hidden.

And the year that passed with no contact
I believe we never forgot what we shared
You kept me safe in your heart till then
Those days of quietness still had some meaning.

It was 12th June, I could never forget
That impeccable innocence and sweetness on your face
It was hard to deny the probity you asked with
I loved the chocolates and the cold cake.

That long distance to my home started to get shorter
As each day passed with you walking beside
Our unspoken chatter exchanged beautiful senses
I understood each of them yet too late.

Lost I a friend, I thought that night when the
bridge of your emotions broke
But later I realized the present I was blessed with
That night when I stopped you from behind
I saved myself from the darkness I was leading to.

Today when I look myself in the mirror and ponder
Your ubiquitous presence makes me feel that I am a
good person
The love for you could never escape my heart
I would cherish it the same way in my grave.

The memories of you shower over me the rain of eternal
happiness
I can never explain the anguish I suffer not seeing you
close
I have faith that these days of sorrow would too have
some meaning
I would be patient too waiting for it to come true.
