My Inner Flame Poem by Madeleine Wolf

My Inner Flame

I have an inner flame
That burns for you.
Can’t you see
The heat radiate through?

When you approach me,
You light my fire.
I become hot as Hell,
My mind a wire.

When our hands touch,
I start to sweat.
The fire grew and grew
When our bodies met.

If you embrace me,
You know I’ll swelter.
Don’t you know
My world turns
Helter skelter?
