We’ve gone through the years together
And I followed the path you made
I’ve watched you overcome the obstacles in the road
And I’ve watched how faithful you’ve stayed.

I’ve seen the heartache you’ve had to face
And I’ve tried to help without you knowing
But even at times when there was nothing I could do
I watched you keep on going.

You’ve been such a faithful friend
To not only me but others too,
And you’ve helped many times
With all the things they had to go through.

So thank you for all the good times I’ve had
Because you were there to make it fun
You brightened up each day I’ve lived
And you made all my worries come down to none.

You’re one of the greatest examples I’ve ever known
And now the time has come nigh
When we will leave all our memories behind
And we will both say good-bye.

We will leave behind those memories
Of how I walked by you each day
And now by your side I will not be
But in your shadow I’ll always stay.

Always do right no matter what
And from the world, your life will be safe
So then in the end you can be called
My Hero of the Faith.
