My Hero My Sister Poem by Mixo Malepfane

My Hero My Sister

I have seen them do great deeds
And I have seen them inspire multitudes
And they were called mighty and great
But they are not you

You are greater because your deeds are neither heard nor seen
You are braver because no one believed in what you have
You are stronger because you conquered your own life
You are wiser because you continue to be humble

Your courage inspires me to never give up
I take solace in knowing that you made it
Sometimes I wonder if you are made of flesh
Because pain does not hinder your strides

Thank you for leading the way
I hope to one day carry the banner of life for you and with you
Even if they do not see you courage and will, I do
Even if they do not see your beauty, I do
Even if they do not appreciate you, I do
