My Heart Lost Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

My Heart Lost

My lord! Will you answer my prayer;
From a man on his knees that is asking you please?
To take care of my wife who you called home last night.
In a dream she went away with no time for me to say;

'Thank you my dear for so many years;
The children you gave, and the family we made.'
She was my whole world Lord, and I feel so lost.
Please give her back God; I'll pay any cost.

Let me hold her once more in a lasting embrace.
Place my hands over her beautiful face.
Moving her hair back like I always do.
Gaze in her eyes with the words, 'I love you.'

I'm sorry my Lord for choking on tears.
My trembling voice expressing such fear.
How selfish, I am, for asking so much.
For losing my faith, and breaking your trust.
I know she is with you in a perfect new life.
So please take care of my Angel; My beautiful wife.
