My Heart Has Torn Can We Save It? Poem by Athena Beato

My Heart Has Torn Can We Save It?

we went on a date
you took my hand
now i have this pain
that i cant stand.

i used to hate blood now i crave it
my heart has torn
can we save it?

i do nothing at all
just lay in my bed
thoughts of slitting my arm
run through my head.

i sit back with laughter
i watch the blood run
something i used to hate
is now fun.

such pain and sorrow
is in my eyes
i keep hearing
these hateful lies.

i can only feel pain
tears run down my face
having to lose you
its a disgrace.

i love blood most
when i make it
my heart has torn
can we save it?

you have forgotten me
all together, for now, who knows
i will quietly watch
where the blood goes.

drip, drip,
it seeps through my fingers
its the haunting smell
that lingers.

the quiet darkness
i admire
the pain i feel
a flaming fire.
