My Heart Burns Poem by venessa ambrose

My Heart Burns

This is a letter,
I must send to you,
I no longer wait for later,
My heart burns,
Read all the words in it,
And leave not a piece,
Hold it ny your blossom,
Let it bring you peace
It is my letter,
And you must always remember,
Each word of my dim ink,
Till even my corpse sinks,
I wish I was by your side,
Reading my poor choice of words,
In my local accent from home,
Repeating it each sunset,
Never fading from your heart,
This is my letter,
I burnt my last candle,
In the soul of the night,
Hearing not a single sound,
But the song of your laughter,
And the picture of our future,
With our kids and pet,
Nah! our offspring must be great,
With heads as large as mine,
And legs as tiny as yours,
They will be famous,
And whiter than clowns
Oh! My heart burns,
With no more capacity to store,
All the dreams I have for us,
I can write no more,
Now I must dream far,
And prepare for our days ahead,
This is my letter to you!
