My Heart Poem by Suzanne LeslieBailey

My Heart

Rating: 4.0

Like the rhythmic sensuous sounds of a drum
My heart beats for you
Beats leaping with fervent excitement
At the mere shadow of your face
And the whisper of your voice

My heart pounds against my breast
Seeking its escape
Impatient to be entwined with yours

My heart holds secrets, dreams and a love so deep
Far and dark within its recesses
That only the key of your love can unlock
And the light of your smile can find

My heart is not a playground
To be trampled on or toyed with
My heart is sacred
To be handled with the gentlest of care

Can I trust you with my heart?
