My Goldfish Frank.

My mum and me went down to the petshop,
She bought me a goldfish, I called him Frank.
And while we were at the shop,
We bought gravel, fish food and a tank.
I put Frank in my room, by the window,
So he could look out and he’d have a view.
I didn’t want him getting sad or bored,
So I got him a deep-sea diver too.

I loved Frank he was my best friend,
And I’d tell him all my woes and troubles,
But Frank would just stare back at me,
and maybe blow some bubbles.
We’d sit for hours Frank and me,
We’d talk, and talk, and talk.
I got really funny looks and stares,
when I took him for a walk.

So one day I went out with my friends,
It was nice and I wanted some fun.
And when I got home Frank was dead,
……….Too bad, Id left him in the Sun.
My little mate, my confidant,
I sat there and I cried.
And Frank well, he was belly up,
and a little fried.

I’ve fell out with friends at times,
A few friendships I have spoiled.
But the one with Frank quite honestly,
Is the only one I’ve boiled.
I was really upset that Frank was gone,
I just didn’t know what to do.
Then I thought he’d love a burial at sea,
So I flushed him down the loo.

My mum and me went down to the petshop,
She bought me a hamster I called him Dave.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I got this idea from my daughter, we bouight her a goldfish and this is what happened after she left it by the window on a hot day. She was only very young so we did nt scold her too much. We did not buy her any more fish.
