My Friend Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

My Friend

Rating: 0.5

One among millions;
One day, out of the blue,
Like star, like clover
Beneath the clear blue skies,
With destiny boon in hands,
Like spanking breeze to sailors,
Descended and showered rains,
Of happiness and happiness,

Oh, my friend- sweet, cute and caring;
I always held you close to my heart lovingly,
Through my good and bad times,
Undimmed amid grief and strife,
You stood like a rock all through,
Along the path of my life,
Once treasured in my mind,
Thy familiar face ever smiling and dazzling,
Never to be let down by reproach and censoring,
With childlike faith always out to help,
And trust and share with me like anything.

No disbelief concealed and no weakness veiled;
Hopes, sorrows, wrongs and rights all made to bare,
With no reservation you ever cared,
Ah, my friend you are the best among all the rest,
My friend, we may not see each other’s face again,
But you will always hold a graceful and divine place,
Within my heart and memory and as we stand,
Isolated between far-distant places, I will be
Longing to see you again and again…….........
