My Foolish Heart Poem by Runita R Menezes

My Foolish Heart

My foolish heart is so crazy,
And loves you immensely,
But each time that you’re in sight
This foolish heart, it takes flight.

I try so hard to make it understand
That loving you is like building a castle of sand
There’s no love in your eyes for me,
But this heart it, just won’t see.

It appears that in this dilemma I am alone
But I can either be silent or make my feelings known
At least I’ll be out of this misery
And this heart will no longer be in agony

But each time that you walk by
This foolish heart begins to cry
And each time you turn around and smile
This foolish heart is re-born for a while.

So love I hope someday you’ll give me a sign
That in your heart you, too think I’m divine
Then my foolish heart will ever be
In your possession for all Eternity.
