My First Crush Poem by Kurt Lippy

My First Crush

Rating: 5.0

how can you say,

that it didnt mean anything,

those few weeks we spent together,

were some of the happiest of my life,

the laughing, the crying,

playing clue with your parents,

the winter days we spent together,

i thought were so beautiful,

sledding, snowball fights, just carrying on,

you were my first kiss,

the first one i meant,

we were happy for a while,

then February 14 came along,

thats right, Valentine's Day,

we went out together,

and played in the snow,

i knew something was wrong,

but you would not say,

when i took you home,

after handing you the roses and chocolates,

i bought for that special evening,

you broke up with me on the spot,

and slammed the door in my face,

i went home sobbing,

i thought you were 'The One',

the rest of the school days were hard,

with you sitting right behind me,

you broke my heart,

you cut me deep,

with a few single words,

i have gotten over you now,

or so i think,

but not a month goes by,

that i dont wish things were different,

im pouring my soul out,

puttin my heart on display,

but you probably wont even read this,

because im not worth your time,

you know who you are,

you were my first crush...
