My Father Poem by Marlena Scott

My Father

Rating: 4.0

You were my father
And I was your daughter
You were suppose to protect me
But instead you just let it be
You let someone else take your place
But there was so much space
You left a big hole
Was that your goal
Did you want to see your little girl cry?
Did you ever ask yourself why?
Why did you ever leave?
Thinking we should grieve
You were wrong in so many ways
Maybe it was how I was raise
