My Dream World Poem by Agnes Burns Lawson

My Dream World

Rating: 2.8

If my dream world must sweeter be
Then let my dreaming be of thee'
O'h kindred love and kiss of bee'
As it flutters round the blossomed tree
A silent love that in one moments flight
Stilled my beating heart in sighing plight
To stir emotions thro' the sleeping night
And awaken passions fruit to my hearts delight
By the air of it's operatic recited play
to reminiscent moments thro' the day
Bringing to life this dreams realistic sway
So that I belong there! either way
In seclusive mind my thoughts are deeds begun
Entwining by the threads of love to bind as one
So let my dream escape it's lonely sea
To set it free' for all I need is thee
If my dream world must sweeter be
Then let my dreaming be! with thee'.

I think this is a great poem, maybe just a little contrived because of the rhyming and the older style, but it has a definite tempo and a definitel love-lorn mood expressed. The way it turns from dreaming 'of thee' to dreaming 'with thee' was a great stroke.
