My Dream Poem by Matthew Petranovich

My Dream

I graduate, and everyone tells me how lucky I am
After graduation, I get a car,
a license to follow,
but inside I feel true sorrow,
because these things mean nothing to me.

You don't need to have these things,
to get what I want.
It will help you in the long run,
but waiting is not fun.
Not when I see,
people around me have my dreams.

They have it by accident,
They have it on purpose,
They have the money,
Or have none,
and yet,
they still accomplish my dream.

They have no job,
have no car,
no diploma,
or G.E.D.,
then why have they accomplished my dream?

You can tell,
that they're in a faze,
And I am just amazed,
how some can still,
party hard,
and not give a damn.

I have accomplished many things,
and seen enough,
to be good at my dream.
I have graduated,
I have a car,
I have a license,
and soon to be a job,
But people got to where I wanted to be
even sooner then I did.

Where I am, is not where I wanted to be
I want to be a father,
a boyfriend or husband,
and it seems thoughs who are not
ready
are living my dream.
