My Dedicated Star Poem by RAJ NANDY

MY DEDICATED STAR

An Astrophysicist once said, that there are
more stars in space and its outer reaches,
Than all the grains of sand on our beaches!
On earth so many people are born and so
many die,
I think that there are dedicated stars for every
soul in the sky!
I wonder which star will get dedicated to me?
In which constellation will that be?
Will that constellation hold a family?
Or will it be an assortment of stars for you
and me?
With such thoughts one night I had fallen
asleep;
And when the night had grown dark and deep,
I was transported in my dreams, though my
body lay fast asleep!
I dreamt that I had become a star with a
luminous glow,
Shedding my light on the earth below!
I was shining high up in celestial space,
Where I was destined to spend my heavenly
days!
But with the morning sunlight on my eyes, -
I bid my dream good by, and began to awake;
And found it was another dawn on earth, with
a new day break!
