My Daughter Poem by Joann Carrano Passmore

My Daughter

Rating: 0.5

My daughter was born September 26th, in nineteen eighty
We all thought she was such a beautiful baby
She laughed and played throughout the day
Even I did no know what to do or say

Her smile was like a shining light
Which shown really bright
As she grew she made her own choices
Now she has five children all with loud voices

Pretty and sweet she will always be
For this was the plan, the only one I would see
For now with five children she will have to raise
She will need all our love and God’s glory and praise

For today makes her 24th Birthday
And though it seems she was born yesterday
It seems so many years, but not so long ago
All I pray is for God to show her the way to go

To show her which direction to go with her life
And not keep facing so much turmoil and strife
To raise her children from her heart
Knowing one day they too will grow apart

So my darling daughter, my advice would be
Life may not always be what you see
All I ask is for you do your best
And always let God handle and do the rest

For my love will go wherever you are
And always try and reach for your special star
Just try and do you’re very best
For one day you will be God’s special guest
