My Daddy Won'T Be Coming Home Poem by Francis Duggan

My Daddy Won'T Be Coming Home

Rating: 4.5

My daddy won't be coming home my daddy gone away
My daddy gone to other World that's what my mummy say
My daddy gone to better World to World beyond the sky
And now I know dad won't come home for mummy never lie.

My daddy left for work one day but he did not come home
He went off to another World and left us on our own
I've prayed to God for dad's return for dad's return I pray
But daddy won't be coming home that's what my mummy say.

My dad won't have to work no more he's in a better place
But when mum say these things to me the tears steal down her face
And when mum say these things to me the tears well in her eyes
But what my mummy say is right for my mum she is wise.

My mum she miss my daddy too her tears a give away
When she say we'll go to join dad in Paradise one day
And I look forward to that day the day that mum and I
Will go to join dad in that World the World beyond the sky.
