My Confession To You - Poem by Jasmine Fafanyo Awagah

when i run, i walk
when i win, i lose
when i smile, i frown
when i am up, i am down
when i bow, i have the crown
I am stuck in the middle all the time...but
i direct my own life so i call for 'cut'

i want to shoot a new scene
with nature crystal clear and all clean
i know you may feel its a little too late
i did not intend to hide it from you but wait
i was lost in the middle
not that i did not know the answer, i was dribbled
I knew my team
I knew you were the girl of my dreams
its not that she was better
or had something stronger

the situation is complicated
that i hesitated
do not get me wrong
I have not played this for long
I gave you a clue
but you did not want to be my boo
when i thought that was it
i jumped into her pit
that was when you came with the rope
to get me out. Girl, that was 'dope'

She is in a situation
She needs me than ever
what is my justification?
I have chosen you instead, forever
The truth, she doesn't want forever
but all she wants is to the time she says she will wither

do not get me wrong
I have not played this for long
I know i am not the best in your life
Just make me, I will make you my WIFE
I mean it
You can mark it
this is not a joke
I am not just trying to get you Poked
I am really in love with you
I wonder, are you?

do not get me wrong
we have been friends for a year long
but this is real
you are not a meal
you are not a nine day wonder
I wish we were friends from the days we were younger
Between you and i, this is not to cause confusion
but a mere but true and strong confession
I want you to comprehend
just understand
This is my confession
Not to you alone but the whole world in session
