My Companion Is Dead Poem by asaolu kolawole ifedayo

My Companion Is Dead

The twilight of death
descend lowly upon my famished soil
taking to cloud, a kiss of her breath
and futile be all my timeless toil
a shadow's pledge
binding love to the upper edge

A heart that is truly kind
never beget the finest wind
blown from the enemy of men
now or then, our voices to sound amen!
and thou have gone
but thy memory still lies undone

Your tender pat on my cheek
standing firm as temple pillar of ancient greek
my tears, thy fears
making peak to all my wears
like a paradise of dream
to an imminent moment of doom

And who will comfort me again?
with that sweetest voice now in vain
who will teach me the weather of peace?
among the crazy countries in prurient pieces
my pains from the rainy angle
falling accord to the bondage of foe
and now, iam nothing more but single
on a demise of my conscience rotten toe
