My Cats, Past And Present Poem by Neerusha Chuttoorgoon

My Cats, Past And Present

Rating: 5.0

The pain I felt when I lost you
I still can't believe it was true
You left my life unexpectedly
And left me so lonely
Longing for your soothing company
My first cat died so suddenly
And I lost my second cat tragically
They were both like my babies to me
None of them had reached two years
And I thought I would see them grow old
Yet now all I have is their grave so cold
Yet they still live forever
Forever in my heart, I shall forget them never
Now I have another cat
I pray that this one stays
I pray that she stays in my life always
May it never happen again
May I never lose my cat
I don't want to feel that pain
Not again
If my cat lives 100 years
Let me live 99 years
So that I will never see a day without her
Holding your cat in your arms, her gentle purr
Slowly carry you into a peaceful slumber
That's when I am happy
That's when I want to freeze time for ever
To make this purrfect moment last, when my cat knows I love no one else but her.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I lost my two cats tragically, and I have adopted a third one since then.
This poem is a tribute to them. I hope this furry baby lives a long and happy life with me. =(^.^) =
