My Betrothed Poem by Kaitlyn Sommerfield

My Betrothed

Among the trees i hide-
Running from my betrothed
My mind is getting tired from this,
His evil presence withers my hearts rose.

Why was this burden laid on me?
I do not want to be the Queen of the Darkness
I do not want to be damned from the waters edge,
I do not want to live in this city of stone.

I must run
I must run forever-
But he still follows
Finding me at every corners turn

I think he's getting bored from my running
Instead of seeing him follow me,
I see a great black beast with a shadowed rider,
It can disappeer out of sight, but it's still there beside me.

Waiting for me to start running again
Wanting me to run so it can chase.
My betrothed loves how I try to run
But running does no good.

You hateful man, why do you take joy in my pain?
