My Becoming Poem by Rupert Nonyane

My Becoming

Rating: 3.5

dark skinned, with glowing eyes,
shines from past errors, submerged by cracked mirrors,
that reflected anger images from the dark clouds gathering

hopefull heart, even though hurt before
the eyes of love or, was it tempted thoughts,
sweet words turned sour, wise turn immoral,
swept by high school disasters which were once,
high school crush,

fruitfull thoughts, nurtured by the womb carrier,
eager to see the earth's sun, with hope sealed in both hands,
life was the gift to him,

love songs made darkness seen lighter,
made the impossible look easy,
time and opinions differentiated the young to the wise minded,
ideas become scarce, mistakes were envitable

roots grounded thee from the rest,
found to the creator after miss-direction,
boy became man
