My Babu … … 1606-2k13 Poem by saadat tahir

My Babu … … 1606-2k13

Rating: 4.8

Flecks of snow in those bushy brows
Glasses scarce perched on his nose

All day prays and thinks of his kids
with love and care as we do our bids

Bag on shoulder, I enter in a tired haze
Beaming smile, eyes sparkle with sun’s rays

Forgotten all fatigue and my day’s worries
My Baba can fix the lot! And my flurries

The fluid love of a daughter for her father! I am sure you must have been thrilled by this spontaneous and genuine expression of love! How much warmth is packed in this concise poem! Thanks for the critical appraisal of my poem! Yes, Shahzia has done me honour through her Urdu translation!

A message to Shems: Your poem is heart-felt and well-written, and no doubt fathers are extremely protective of their daughters, rather a father is a superman who is expected to fix all problems. i would like to quote a favorite statement by Garrison Keillor The father of a daughter is nothing but a high-class hostage. A father turns a stony face to his sons, berates them, shakes his antlers, paws the ground, snorts, runs them off into the underbrush, but when his daughter puts her arm over his shoulder and says, 'Daddy, I need to ask you something, ' he is a pat of butter in a hot frying pan. it is not only a tribute but a pen-portrait in just 4 couplets, great! ! !
