My Artist Poem by Ronald Chapman

My Artist

Across a western ocean, night falls,
Across an eastern sea, the sun rises over a new day,

Dreams of home hazily remembered,
Thinking of you standing on the beach,

Unable to separate dreams from reality,
Crying tears,

Ancient songs, reach my ears, stoking the flames of my heart,
Warming my Soul,

She is in my thoughts,

She is my dream,
My hazily remembered dream,
My artist painting a sunrise on the beach,

But still, she is in my thoughts;

When I think of that hazily remembered dream,
That hazily remembered artist and me.
Together we kissed, we kissed my artist,

I miss you.
