My Angel Poem by Vision Ghost

When the tears well within my eyes, from the hearts felt agony
I kept walking, no matter how much this hurts, even in fates felony
When the storm raged, above my skies and my dying world collapsed
Only emotion was fear and confusion, far from the cure as I relapsed

Frightened, unheard and misunderstood, in vain I drown in this lake
For an escape from this nightmare, prayed I would someday, wake
In a better place, a time and reality where I can be found and loved
For there was nothing here for me anymore, lost everything, I stoked

But for me, there was the faintest light in the darkness, of despair
A random flicker of hope, within the chaotic walls, of my lost lair
A voice heard above the dying cries, of my lost hopes and dreams
Urging to keep going, finding in me that last sense of silver streams

A final step left for me to take, to see the breaking of my clouds
Falling so far, yet something is calling me, from the blackest shrouds
A beacon of hope felt, illumination, recognised as a passion ignites
The fire inside re-established, from the smoulders of my soul’s blights

No hand she gave, no embrace she offered, only the fire inside she found
Encouraged the warrior from the meek, feet recovered the stable ground
Empathy felt from the light I see, the warm from the winters biting chill
Like a child looking up to the protector, I followed in her fighting skill

From the blood of my wars, to the scars f my battles, I can finally stop
Out from the cave to the entrance, to the star filled skies always a top
As the senses return and the calm is felt again, I draw breath and pain
So many injuries, so much endured inside, now I can start to regain

As the clean and crisp air fills my aching lungs once more, I reflect
To the light I saw, for that moment when all was lost and I slowly crept
Now again I am to my feet, so much to rebuild, the first brick in hand
As I know that out there, somewhere, my angel is watching my land
