My Angel Poem by Mockingjay Mellark

My Angel

Rating: 5.0

I dreamed again of you last night
My angel, by the sea
At your side a harp you played
Close by a unicorn neighed
A golden halo of light
Crowning a beautiful, pure sight
Upon your head it rested
A queen who's ethereal strength has been tested
And this your golden halo
A crown befitting an angel
Matched the gold flecks on your wings
Beautifully white with a silvery sheen
Your music, maiden, was fair as your face
And just as unearthly too
Your star reflected eyes were like those of a doe
Above you the sky was the pale pink of dawn
And dew sparkled about you
You sat beside a beautiful sea
Which wouldn't stray from it's boundaries for ye
The grass was so green
And beautiful
Lush and full of colored flowers
Daisies, tulips and daffodils
Presently came along the unicorn of before
And she was so gorgeous, a creature of lore
A myth and a legend, she put her head in your lap
You sang so sweetly, she heaved a sigh so relaxed
She gazed up at you with endearment and love
Enthralled to be so close to grace and compassion
Only you, it was clear, did her eyes see
She was as enraptured by you as me
The scene started to cloud
And I reached out in desperation
For a few moments more but nay
I awoke to a world in comparison dreary and gray
Yet in my hand found I
A most glorious thing
A wide, unruffled reminder
Clutched I a long white feather
