Murdered By Modernity Poem by idowu joshua

Murdered By Modernity

I am a victim
A voracious victim of
This merciless modern psyche
Murdered by morbid modernity
Stranded and strangled in the red claws
Of inverted cosmic order
Marauded by stained civilization
The street lights, the TVs, the internet
The radio and many more boxes
Of pitiless Pandora make the
Siege upon my city of innocence
I am afraid
If nature comes not to my aid
This beautiful monster
Shall soon have me lain
In memory’s lane
And in my coffin’s belly
