Mr. Right Poem by Donna Nimmo

Mr. Right

Rating: 5.0

I kept losing at love, said I'd never try again
I kept getting hurt, got fed up with all men
Someone would come along, I'd begin to dropp my guard
I thought this one might work, if I tried real hard
He would always betray me, break my heart in two
I would wonder what I did, and wouldn't have a clue
Thinking one day, I finally figured it out
I'd been going for Mr. Wrong, without a doubt
I'd been drawn to the cruel, the real mean kind
I'd fall in love, get into a real bad bind
I've learned a lot from the grief and pain
Don't get yourself hooked up, with a ball and chain
I began to look for a gentle soul to care
Finally found a good one, and we make quiet a pair
There is happiness and hope for all to find
You've got to go forward, and not look behind!
